Which US Constitutional Amendment are You?

The Fourth of July is by far one of my favorite holidays. I love fireworks (and I’m not talking the ones between A and me!), I love barbecues, and I love being patriotic.

When we were little and our mother would be away on one of her three weeklong ‘stress retreats’ my sister, Primrose, and I would entertain ourselves by playing games inspired by this amazing nation. To us, the United States has always meant more than just a collection of 50 states, it has meant a group of people have come together to be something that transcends humanity… they have come to be Americans. And what a powerful thing indeed.

Now, our best game by far was to pick out which amendments we thought were most fitting for different people we know. You had to recite the amendment and then explain why you chose it. It was brilliant and fun! I swear if our mother had let us attend school regularly we would have been top-of-the-class students.

So in honor of this upcoming Independence Day weekend, I want all of you lovely readers (how have we already hit so many??) to have the opportunity to find your most perfect Amendment.

Start at the top of the flow chart and answer questions as honestly as possible- and be sure to print it out and bring it to your next party, it’s such a crowd pleaser!

Hmm I got the 2nd Amendment, which I think is totally me BUT I also feel like maybe I could have answered differently early on and gotten another option. Some of the questions were tough!

I think I’m doing this wrong HELP. Does anyone know what you’re supposed to do after you answer the first question? I said no because I didn’t understand the question. What is the 2nd Amendment? Should I have said yes?

Hi Nancy, I just took this so I think I can give you a little help. So if you say no to the first question (which you can read about here https://www.law.cornell.edu/wex/second_amendment) then you should go immediately to the next question which is “Do you own a home”. Then you will have to answer yes or no that to continue. Just follow the lines between questions and at some point you’ll get to the Amendment that you are most like. Personally I got 18th, and I would say it can’t get more accurate than that.

Uhg, how did I get the 2nd amendment? I thought I was more of an 8th amendment girl. I guess the truth speaks louder than cruel and unusual punishment.

IRL most people don’t like me so I always thought I was a 16th amendment type of girl, but I’m smiling after finding out that I’m the 8th!
