Your May Horoscope: Week II

I try to make all weekly decisions based off these star charts- I hope you all do the same!  Aries: If you haven’t tried it recently, quit your job. You’ll be amazed at how different life becomes when you don’t have a steady income.  Taurus: Enjoy a hot cup of coffee at least once this week. The warm, soothing flavors will make it easier to get over the guilt you’re feeling after you betrayed your best friend. Gemini: Don’t buy…

DIY Baby Career Reveal Cake

My boyfriend A and I have been getting into all sorts of arguments and disagreements recently and it’s honestly been really upsetting. At first I thought it was because of the full moon (him being a Gemini and all) but when I started to push him to talk he finally dropped a major bomb… His wife is pregnant. AGAIN. I was beyond shocked- here he won’t even give me an engagement ring but he’s all ready to give her a baby?…

Get the Look: The PETA Vic.

As I’m sure you all have heard, Cleveland Fashion Week was out of this world this year- and I’m not just talking about designer Peiter Von Gabrielle’s martian inspired ear muffs. Thanks to my elite blogger status, I had a front row seat to 3 of the most incredible runway shows I have EVER attended and I can say with 75% certainty that fashion in 2017 will be better than it was in 1876, 1922, 1975, 1987, 1991 and 2011…

Your Guide to Poormet

Raise your hand if you’ve experienced any of the following problems: You’re a recent grad with a low paying job just wishing you could enjoy a nice meal every once in a while. You want to have great food photography on Insta… but your boyfriend is too cheap to take you out every night. You accidentally spent your paycheck on lipstick and bulgogi but still want to enjoy a good dinner at Chez Panisse. Your boyfriend doesn’t want to take you…

Your February Horoscope: Week I

It’s my favorite time of the week: a post about how the stars whisper to me from the shadows and pass on their weekly fortunes. Spoiler alert: some of our readers are in for an amazing Sunday. Aries: Big plans for the weekend often lead to bigger disappointments. Try not to schedule anything, just let it happen.  Taurus: When the planets align in your favor, great things can be accomplished. This won’t be happening anytime soon, but it’s nice to know.…

Your January Horoscope: Week II

Like my boyfriend A, the stars are distant, enigmatic creatures of darkness that appear only at night and never invite me over to their own homes. Unlike my boyfriend A, there are thousands of stars in the universe… there is no one quite like my A 😉 Aries: Buttons fall off, but can always be sewn back on again. All you need is a needle, thread, and a some super glue.  Taurus: Imagine a world where all the humans are…

Book Review | A Beautiful Hell

Picture this: A dark room with walls that seem to have no end and a ceiling that seems to fall too low; a smell like burning hair and musty cupboards; the distant cries of pain and suffering echoing around and around 24 hours a day, seven days a week… Welcome to Hell.  In my favorite new winter read, A Beautiful Hell, author Jamie Authorson (or should I say, the modern day Dante) brings the reader along through the most incredibly vivacious…

Vodka Talks

For the second in our introspective life series, Vodka Talks, Primrose and I thought it would be particularly relevant to touch upon the timely topic that many Americans are dealing with right now: New Year’s Resolutions. We met up with a few key Des Geulasse founders and supporters to discuss what resolutions mean to us both (literally and meta-physically) and what we’re planning to do with them over the coming years. As always, each participant was required to do seventeen shots…

New Year, New You

Happy New Year from all of us at Des Geulasse! My sister, Primrose, and I had such an amazing time on NYE doing shots of rubbing alcohol and sharing our many wonderful resolutions (my #1 for the year is to get A to finally put a ring this little finger of mine… hint hint 😉 ). We let the entire Des Geulasse staff take off for the month so my basement definitely got a little lonely- BUT I think everyone’s really…
