Easy Summer Boho Fashion

I swear I am such a flower child sometimes. I love walking around barefoot and I love nature and I L.O.V.E. anything floral. Call me a hippie if you want- I’m too ‘peace’ and ‘love’ to mind 😉

So one of my favorite things is incorporating natural things into what I wear. People often think flower crowns are just for music festivals or the Renaissance fair but I say take it further! Let your inner boho girl out with more than just maxi skirts and flowing tops!

‘Wearable Nature’ is our Geulasse motto that you can take literally anything from mother Earth and find a way to put it on. If living things weren’t so ephemeral I think Primrose and I could totally make a fashion line out of it…

For this particular look all you need is a little glue and a lot of imagination. You can make jewelry designs with any leaves or flowers you find. Simply pick out your decorations, apply some glue, and let them dry on your skin.

It’s so cute and honestly I think it’s the perfect hint of elegance and boho for the summer.

Could I use tape instead of glue? My boyfriend says I shouldn’t be glueing things to my skin for fashion (I think he’s wrong but like whatever).

I glued my pet guinea pig Tutu to my arm and it is très chic! Thanks for giving me the courage to do it. Tutu stopped breathing, should I be worried? 🙂

Elmer’s glue is vegan right? I just want to make sure because there’s a pig on the logo…

Brithany – Luckily Elmer’s glues are vegan! They abandoned using animal products decades ago. They are also lactose free and gluten free. Unfortunately they are made from petrochemicals which is just as bad for the environment. I would suggest using Coccoina glue from Italy because it is vegan, gluten free, and Kosher! I use it to make Passover crafts with my kids. Plus is smells like marzipan (another a great vegan dessert) so it will act as a perfume alongside your nature accessories. http://www.buygreen.com/products/coccoina-glue-sticks

Hey Arielle, Carol here. Obviously we are all aware of petrochemicals since that’s totally old news. However I noticed you mentioned marzipan as a vegan dessert and I just wanted to point out that marzipan isn’t always vegan, Arielle. In fact sometimes it is made with HONEY. And I AM SURE you would never eat honey because you’re a self proclaimed vegan but I DON’T WANT to have poor people like Brithany getting confused.

        Thanks,
        Carol

So it’s totally ok if I got some in my mouth when I was trying to put rose petals on my lips?! Chemicals don’t bother me as much as animal suffering!

Absolutely, I agree. Animal suffering is terrible. I wish I could stop it. Do you know that traditional agriculture methods to make almonds (the main ingredient in Marzipan!) often harm bees also? I stay away from it for that reason.

Flower children unite. I am always so impressed by the creativity on you blog! I have beautiful jacaranda trees by my apartment that I’ve been dying to do something with. This is perfect.

I’m wondering if staples would work instead?

Hello Ursula, I do not recommend staples as the metal often does not go with the floral look. Thanks for checking though!
